Nail of the Week 12/20/11: Malaga Wine

I know I haven't done a nail of the week in a while and that's because I didn't really have time to paint my nails. I had the last color for over a week, which made my nails yellow and stuff. Bleh. Anyways, yesterday I got my nails done and I haven't gotten a mani/pedi in forever so it was really nice. This week's photo doesn't have the polish because I took the photo after I got the manicure. I thought it was a really pretty color for Christmastime.

Inspiring Christmas Decoration Videos

During this time of the year everyone seems to be decorating something. Whether it be Christmas trees, or just wrapping a gift(yes, that counts too!). We're all busy trying to make something else look especially cheerful. Since I live in a dorm I haven't really bothered decorating much in my room, especially because it has been a tad hectic back there(I'll blog about that later). However, when I go back to the dorms I want to decorate my side a bit nicer and make it homier. Until then, I keep getting ideas and a lot of them are from Christmas videos I've watched. This post is mainly to just show my favorite ones so far. I hope you guys get some ideas, and if you any videos you think I might like link them or send me a message with them! :)

Kandee Johnson,
or kandeejohnson as she is known in YouTube is a makeup artist and her house is just beautiful. She gives very detailed ways on how she makes her house look so jolly. She might post some videos later on showing how to make certain things, and if she does that I will share them with you guys! I'm sure everyone will get some ideas from this even if you don't like how she decorates.

Ingrid,
or missglamarozzi (or thegridmonster which is her vlog channel), is probably my favorite person on YouTube. She recently got an apartment and has been blogging all through Christmas about her journey with that. I specially enjoyed her video on how she decorated her Christmas tree, which is absolutely adorable!

Elle,
or allthatglitters21(or ellesglittergossip which is her vlog channel) is one of the first people i watched on YouTube back in 2009. Although she isn't my favorite anymore, she puts up good videos here and there. Her ways of decorating are a bit different from my taste, but I think some people would enjoy it!

4 DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS. WOO. :D

Sorry About That

Watching a movie
on the back of a
seat on the plane.
I'm a horrible person! Nah, haha. But I feel terrible that I haven't been putting up blogs like I have said I was going to and that's because I just needed some time to relax. Like I said on the last post, finals are done and I'm back in Miami. I got back on Sunday night. My flight was for that afternoon. The flight was great, and I really recommend flying with JetBlue. I honestly think that was the best flying experience I've had. The flight attendants were so nice and they went around asking everyone what they wanted to drink individually, wrote it down, and brought it to us. They had so many goodies to pick from to eat, and I have some Popcorners which I had never had before. I thought they were popcorn because that's what I heard on the speaker. But i didn't complain when I saw them. They are very unusual and have a great taste. Also, the plane had individual screens for the seats. Usually I've seen some placed on the ceiling of the plane and you can barely see the movie or show. I loved that each of us had one and it had Direct Tv and XM radio. I had planned on watching movies I had on my computer but since I had this I didn't find a need to get my laptop. It also helped that I sat next to a little girl(because I was on the aisle seat). I was just there to help her out since her mom wasn't sitting with her.

I honestly can't believe I'm home; it seems very surreal. It felt like I was in a strange land, but I'm slowly getting used to the lifestyle here. I'm sure I'll miss it when I leave, like I'm missing school right now. I'm planning on blogging everyday so look for all the posts I want to show you guys! :)

Song Series: End - Secondhand Serenade

If you ask any of my friends what my favorite music involves, they would answer that I probably like this week's singer. John Vesely, or better known as Secondhand Serenade, is one of my favorite singers/band for the past years of my life. I have personal reasons to like the music, but before I had these reasons I was a fan of his. It's always nice to see someone that wasn't so famous explode and become internationally known. I actually met him in the summer of 2010. It was one of the happiest experiences of my life. :)

Me & John on Aug
2010 in Boston, MA.
I can honestly say I haven't listened to any of his music recently until I had a dream with him a few days ago. My memory for dreams is incredible and the dream with him was so much fun! Everytime I think about it, it makes me so happy. So, for that reason I thought I should include a song of his this week. I had many other people I wanted to share for this week, but the dream made me want to his song instead.

End by Secondhand Serenade,
is a song that I have always loved. It's not my favorite from SS but I think this should be a very popular song. Although it doesn't have a lot of singing the actual music makes me get goosebumps. I wish more people knew about and that's why I'm sharing this one. His voice is so beautiful along with the music! Enjoy.

A Little Annoyed

On Sunday the 4th of December, I ordered some really cool stuff that I wanted to share with you guys from Sephora. Today is the 13th, 10 days later, and that package is still not here. This is the first time any package from Sephora has taken this long. Other purchases take less than a week to get to my school, but I think something might have gone wrong. This is what it's appearing on the USPS website when I check for the package:

C'mon.. how long does it take to sort? This hadn't bothered me before because some packages sometimes take a while to be delivered, but the fact that I have received a package from Sephora before in less than a week annoys me a little. I also leave from my college on Sunday so I want to have my stuff before I leave. It should not be this difficult to send something from Maryland to Massachusetts. Why does it need to go down to North Carolina? Based on Google, others have had this problem too, so maybe I will still get it.

Until I receive that package I won't be happy. :( You guys will love what I got for myself and I can't even share it yet! Lets hope it gets here in time so I can take the stuff with me during Winter Break, blog about it and do some cool stuff with it. Hint hint ;)

I hope everyone is having a great week, and good luck to anyone like me with finals!

Birchbox: Great Gift Idea for a Friend

I know I haven't posted since Friday and that post didn't even count as anything interesting. But I haven't been too inspired lately with so much going on. I might not post that much this week since I have finals and other stuff going on. I'll try my best to squeeze a few posts here and there.

Today's post is inspired by an idea my best friend brought up. She said she wanted to subscribe to Birchbox, and the funny thing is that I do too. I have wanted to sign up for a while now and now I think would be a great time. I would share it will all of you and that should be fun!

For those of you who don't know what Birchbox is, it's a subscription service that you pay $10 for every month and they send you deluxe samples of products. They also have an online store on their website that you can buy the full size products if you like the samples they send you in the box.

I have heard about this for a year now and I have always wanted to try. Next year might be the year for this. My friend brought up the idea to get each other subscriptions to Birchbox. Technically you're paying for yourself, but not really. ;)

This is a cute idea to get you and your friends to try it out! They have affordable options for gifts. You can gift it for 3 months at $30, 6 months for $60, or a year for $110, which means you get one month for free!

I'm definitely going to take this opportunity to start using Birchbox :D I hope everyone that hasn't tried it does, so we can share what we get!

Gift Birchbox today!

Favorite Video/Song Series - Build The Moon

Last week I started this series with You And I by Jason Mraz, today I bring you another song. I must share that I haven't had the best week so far. Yesterday was filled with so much happiness and sadness at the same time, but sometimes you have to look at the good things that you have right now and not worry so much on what already happened. So that's what I'm trying to do. It's another day and another chance to change things!

Build The Moon by Charlotte Sometimes,
was song a song I heard a while ago in either Pandora or Jango. I can't remember. I thought it was a very nice song and when I typed it in on YouTube this montage of the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind which is one of my favorite movies. The montage is actually pretty cute so I decided to put this one for the song :)

My Christmas Wish list

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Yeah, that was cheesy. But it is, Christmas is in almost two weeks and you know what that means! Presents. Haha. Unfortunately this year I can't really ask for much because of college - money is tight. But that won't stop me from making a wish list. I have really wanted these things for a while. They are mostly makeup, so enjoy :)

All I want for Christmas is:
  • My number one thing on this wish list is definitely the Naked Palette from Urban Decay. Everyone has it and shares how wonderful the neutral colors are, and I really didn't care until recently. It would be great to have a good pallete with a nice mix of shimmery and matte shadows.
  • Benefit has probably been one of my favorite brands for a while and these days anything from this brand would make me happy. If I had to choose, I would want to try their They're Real Mascara. It seems like a brush I would like and reminds me of my current favorite mascara.
  • Revlon's Facet of Fuchsia is a nail polish I have been looking for a while. It is so pretty and unique and it would be a great addition to my collection.
  • Something a bit pricey but probably worth the money is Chanel's Vitalumiere Foundation which I've only heard good things from.
  • I really don't need this because my other ones have lasted forever, but it would be nice to try some new colors from the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils. The set that I want although a little expensive for eyeliners it's pretty good because only one pencil costs $18.
  • Finally something I really want is a new set of brushes. This is definitely the priciest thing on here. But I wouldn't need to re-buy it for a long time, or ever.

If any of you make a post about what you want for Christmas link below so I can go and check it out :)
Happy Holidays!

My Acne Story + Meet DiamondsAndHeels14 :)

A lot of you don't know, and mainly because I haven't spoken about skin or my skin in particular, that I've  had acne since probably mid elementary years. Like others, it starts with one and it slowly covers your face until there is not much you can do about it. For some, acne is caused because of bad hygiene and for others it is based on genetics. For me genetics has a big say in it. From my mom's side a lot of people suffer from this and as did I growing up. I tried so many medications and wasted so much money to get results that never made me happy.

It was in high school though, when great things happened to my face and I honestly can't really tell you what made it stop, but I can tell you what I changed during that time. In that time I was with my ex boyfriend and it was probably late sophomore year when I started having an interest in makeup. Having worn makeup before with the acne, I knew those things didn't mix. However, that summer going to my junior year, I found YouTube and its beauty community. I watched simple girls explaining how to do different looks and I immediately got sucked in. I started buying a few things here and there, and next thign you know I have my own mini collection of different types of makeup.

So, what does this have to with my acne? Well, I knew that if I wore makeup my face had to be really clean for it to look nice, and I began to find ways to make the skin clean. In combination with a clean face my makeup looked pretty okay for a while, and then as I started that junior year of high school I began to see a difference on my skin. I was very careful with what I used - mainly non-comodogenic products, so they won't clog up my pores. I wore makeup because I had always liked it but never thought I could pull it off. I use to paint when I was smaller and I was good at it, and makeup brought back that skill of mine and things just started getting from there.

Today, this whole story came to my mind as I watched something on Good Morning America's website, and I had to share this with you guys. About two weeks ago, I found a girl on the homepage of YouTube that caught my attention. The photo of the video was a before and after shot of a girl who had acne and by the end of the video her skin was flawless. I clicked on it because I never thought someone was so courageous as to put their acne on the internet. But she did. Cassandra, or DiamondsAndHeels14 is a model and suffers from acne. She learned that acne shouldn't stop her from doing what she loves and since makeup artists didn't know how to cover acne, she learned herself. Now, everyone praises her for putting herself online and showing other girls and boys that it's okay to have acne, and that it is not an obstacle.

Now, she is everywhere like in Good Morning America to share her tips, her beliefs that everyone is beautiful, and to say that everyone is beautiful. Now, back to the ex boyfriend thing I mentioned. If it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have the guts to do a lot of things these days. He always found me beautiful even when I was really ashamed of my acne, and I think (just like Cass says)inner beautiful is more important than outer beauty. Yes, makeup hides these flaws but these days I'm confident enough to walk out in public without makeup and still feel beautiful. Makeup has become a part of me, but one that helps me express my creative side. This is probably something I haven't been able to explain to many people. Just because some days I want to wear makeup doesn't mean I'm not comfortable with myself. Because I know now outer beautiful isn't all in life.

This is mainly why I started this blog, I wanted to share my love for makeup and all things cute :) because I know there are so many people out there that feel like I did at one point in my life and I want to show them that people will love them with makeup or no makeup.

Wanna check out Cass? Here is her:

Nail of the Week 12/4/11: Chic Chocolate

This week's color was chosen because I wanted to wear something a little more dark now that it's pretty cold up here. I love wearing dark colors in the winter! This is one of my favorite colors. They might not sell it anymore in stores but I'm sure Amazon might have it. I might have a dupe for this one which I will post on a later NOTW. For now, enjoy this color and how beautiful it is :) Happy Fall!

Katy Perry Changed Her Hair!

Yep, once again Katy has changed her hair and guess what! I don't completely hate it! I must admit I haven't been a fan of her recent changes to her hair. At first it was fine. Sure, change your hair from black, which is what everyone knows you by, and sure, change it to pink because you can. But just because you can change your hair doesn't mean you have to. I am a huge fan of hers and I was also a fan of her dark hair, but she is a celebrity and what we know about celebrities is that they like attention and they like to cause craziness. She is no exception. She has caused so much attention with her different color changes since early summer, that actually haven't been so focused on her like I usually am.
Katy back in the day.

However, today when I saw her hair, my reaction this time was not a negative one and in fact a very pleased one. A lot of you might know this but this is actually a very similar look to what he use to have before she was a popstar. I have always loved her hair back then and in fact when she started changing her hair in the summer, I thought that was what she was going to do. But she didn't, and a whole mess of pink shades started appearing on her head. It really disappointed me, but I still loved her.

This is probably not the last of her changes, but I definitely am content right now. :)

Review: L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

If any of you have been keeping up with my Book of Shadows series, then you have probably noticed that I have been using one mascara nonestop. That mascara is: L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes. I have been using this one since the summer and I haven't really wanted to try any others because I love this one so much! This is my second tube of it and works the same as the first one.

Its a very wet formula with a brush that has tiny plastic bristles which helps to get every single lash, hence the "Million" part. It really does a good job in separating the lashes and making them look good. Since I arrived at college i also noticed my lashes were longer probably due to the fact that they had a lot of time to breathe during the summer, but unlike in other occasions this mascara doesn't undo this. I barely have to waste time taking it off which helps in maintaing my lashes healthy and prevent them from falling.

The only bad thing I would say about this is that sometimes it scratches the skin and it always sounds like its brushing the lashes really hard. But it hasn't really hurt me, so that's good.

Aside from that little thing, this is the first time that I haven't felt the need to go running to try new mascaras which is what I usually do through the year. I really recommend this!

Review Time!

Okay, so a few weeks ago I posted that I had a haul from Urban Decay, but I never posted that I had a haul from Sephora also. Late October during the Friends and Family weekend sale from the Sephora, I ordered a little something just for me. About two years ago, I bought a travel size of Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer. I barely used it because it was such a small amount and it wasn't that cheap either. So, on that weekend I decided it was a nice to buy a full size amount of it since I was running out of my little one.

The to-go size costs $17 and the full size one ranges from $32-$42. I actually got the Light one so it was $36, but with the sale it came out a bit cheaper.

I can't say enough good things about this primer. I always feel the difference if I stop using it and switch to another primer. This one just dries faster and evens out the skin so you have a nice place to place your foundation. Also, it lasts a long time because all you need is a little of it so the price is worth it.

Now, on to the Urban Decay stuff. I waited a while to review this because I was a little upset. On one of my eye looks I mentioned that the Sin Primer was creasing. I was so disappointed because its so pretty, but it creased. I, however, have found the right way for it not to crease. Apparently I wasn't blending it out enough. You really have to apply a small amount and move it around a lot so it doesn't feel sticky. Since it is a cream product with shimmer and it needs to be blended out as best you can if not obviously it's going to crease on you. I mean it still creases by the end of the day, but during the day it seems fine. Overall I find it annoying to have to actually blend it out, because with the Original one I don't have to do that. But it's a nice product to even wear it alone if you want.

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 9

Guess what?! I have officially used all the colors on my Book of Shadows. Yep, this mean this series has finished :( I will however, be posting looks I like from my everyday work/school. I love posting the looks so I won't stop them. I might just create one more look from this series to have a nice conclusion with a number 10 look as the final one.

I can't believe I actually have been posting almost everyday and I kept a promise on this blog for once. I really think I'm going to be posting regularly. It has definitely become a part of my daily routine as a fun outlet.

Today's look was actually created to be a simple look since the outfit I was wearing was a bit colorful and overwhelming, so something neutral and pretty for the eyes was the way to go.

  • YDK on the lids
  • Half Baked on the crease
  • Midnight Cowboy Rides Again on the middle of the lid to give some shine
  • Winged liner look with L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner
  • Zero from UD to tightline
  • Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes
  • Primer: UD Sin Primer Potion

Favorite Video/Song Series - You And I

I thought this would be a good idea. Every week or every few days, I will post my favorite songs or videos of that moment. I listen to music all the time and I always want to share my taste in music with others, especially when I find cute songs.

You And I by Jason Mraz,
was one of my favorites songs by him years ago. I heard it on Tuesday night on Pandora, but a live version of it and I fell in love with it all over again. Jason is such a wonderful singer and what better way to start off this series than with such a beautiful voice.

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 8

I'm almost done with my goal of using all my shadows on the Book of Shadows, and I'm very proud of it. I must say it's a little hard to think of new looks, especially when I'm a very simple person when it comes to eyeshadow. Today I wanted to use most of the colors I have left and I think I did a pretty good job doing that.

Also I want to point out that my photo quality has gone down a bit as I changed the setting it was on before so I'm experimenting now. I wish I had consistency with them, but what can I do? I also don't like how the flash washes the colors out, because they look really nice in person.

Anyways, this is another look that normally would not be something I would gravitate towards wearing.

  • I used Flipside on the lid
  • Gunmetal on the outer half of my eye
  • Perversion on the crease
  • Wing: L'oreal Paris Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner, Carbon Black
  • Zero from UD to tightline
  • Primer: UD Original Primer Potion
  • Mascara:  L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Nail of the Week 11/28/11: Mistletoe

There is a story behind this beautiful color. I actually went into CVS to look for another Revlon color that I hopefully will find soon, but anyways.. I found this one. It' a lovely color that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. A green nail polish that's not too light is what I was looking for when I found this one and all the glitters are gorgeous. I think I actually bought it on Thanksgiving day, which means I've been waiting that long to wear this color! I really just wanted to wear it as soon as I got it.
I don't think I have any 'Top Speed' polishes, but it definitely dries really fast! This makes me want wear a lot fo dark clothes to make this look awesome.

Update + Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 7

This look is actually from Tuesday of last week since I haven't had much time to post anything with Thanksgiving break going on. I had a very eventful week that I might talk about later. I took a lot of photos and I'm definitely going to post some here, and some cool ones on my Flickr too (which I need to update). I plan on blogging more than I ever have, so if I'm missing from blogging for a few days, don't worry. I'm here to stay and I don't have any plans to let anything come in between what I love! I really do enjoy this blog and it makes me happy to have this to vent my makeup frustration to. Hehe.

Well, on to the look.. I was very busy on Tuesday, so I was going for something simple and this gold look is what I came up with.

  • Half Baked on the lids
  • Twice Baked on the crease
  • Winged liner look with L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner
  • Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes
  • Primer: UD Original Primer Potion

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 6

Today's look was actually made to go along with my... wait for it.. yep, red lips! This is a very unusual thing for me to wear on a normal day of school but I wanted to be bold. I had been meaning to try red lips for school since this is a time period where red lips can actually be okay to wear. However, I must say it was a little messy. I figured out that by blotting it right after you wear it makes the color stay all day and not really move around (which was I was the most scared about.) Everything turned out fine, and it makes me want to try more lipstick looks too. I couldn't really wear lipstick during high school for a reason that I own't get into, but now I can totally do it! I love lipstick and it makes me happy, so why not? :)

It was a very simply makeup look that looked gorgeous and I got a few compliments on it today!

  • Nylon on the lids
  • YDK on the crease
  • Brown Liquif eye liner by Milani on lower lash line
  • Wing: L'oreal Paris Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner, Carbon Black
  •  Primer: UD Primer Potion
  • Mascara:  L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

With Thanksgiving coming up, I thought it was a good time to go back and use Polyvore to create some cute looks for the holiday. If you don't celebrate it, its okay as this works for any occasions that calls for looking cute!

Idea #1
For this look below this dark brown dress is very appropriate for Thanksgiving and Fall. The dark colors make it really complimentary with all the leaf colors that are in this season. The goldish glittery nail is a must for me, as you already know. The shoes are black, but all these dark colors with leggings look really nice and warm.

Idea #2
As for this look, I wanted to make something a bit different. It's still something very trendy, as stripes and these orange color are very in for the season too. This look would be for someone who likes to look a little different and not the usual dress and classic look. Adding a belt to this look would also make it more formal and put together, so that's another option too!

Nail of the Week 11/19/11: Shim-merry Chic

Yes, this week I'm wearing another gold nail polish. I can't help it! This the closest I got to bronze which is a color I wanted to wear for Thanksgiving, which is this coming week. I have worn this color recently, actually. As beautiful as it is, it's really hard to get the glitter pieces off your nails. I still had some from about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I need a stronger nail polish remover just for this polish.
The color as you can see is gorgeous, it has pieces of oddly shaped glitter which is really different, and reminds me of Facets of Fuchsia from Revlon that I really want!
If you're interested in this I'm sure you can get it somewhere. I got it during OPI's holiday collection a few years ago.

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 5

Again, these looks are not ones I would normally wear on a school day especially on days that i have to work, but they are starting to grow on me. Keep in mind that they are darker in person as when I take the photo the flash takes a lot of the color intensity. I tried to pack on a lot of the mushroom color so it would show up but I promise you it was dark.

  • Mushroom on the lid
  • Twice Baked on the crease and bottom lash line
  • Zero from UD as eyeliner
  •  Primer: UD Sin Primer Potion
  • Mascara:  L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 4

This series is getting a little too fun for me. I'm trying all these looks that I otherwise wouldnt wear and I'm enjoying them. I always heard blue made brown eyes stand out, just like brown makes blue eyes pop, and purple makes green eyes pop, because they are opposite in the color wheel. I never liked the idea of blue on my lids though - didn't think it was for me. After today, I've changed my mind. The blue just looked gorgeous.

  • On the lid I used Jinx
  • Blended it with Misdemeanor
  • Shaded crease with Twice Baked and a little on bottom part of eye
  • Zero liner from UD was used to tighline and in the bottom waterline.
  • Covergirl's Blue Boom from the Liquiline Blast collection on the upper lash line
  •  Primer: UD Sin Primer Potion
  • Mascara:  L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 3

Today's look was a very colorful one that I would normally not wear out. I usually wear neutrals or just very light colors. But this actually made my day. I had a very interesting day(in a bad way) that somehow got better every time I saw these colorful colors. I don't usually wear them mainly because I don't think I can pair them up together very nicely. But I think I did a pretty good job and it makes me want to try more colorful looks. I think it looks very tropical and cheerful which is probably the reason why it made me happy to look at it.

This look actually involved a lot of things and you will see by the list. I had to do that so it would look like a nice flow of colors instead of just two colors on your lid.

  • Started with a bit of Homegrown from the middle to almost inner lid.
  • Ecstacy was in the other half and on the bottom eye.
  • AC/DC was used to blend the previous color around the crease.
  • Sellout was used to blend and clean up the dark colors, so it was placed above the crease.
  • Zero liner from UD was used to tighline and in the bottom waterline.
  • Rimmel's Jungle Green Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil was placed along the upper lashline.
  • Rimmel's Purple Shock Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in the bottom lashline.
  • NYC City Mono Eye Shadows in the color 5th Avenue, in the inner corner of the lid.
  • Mascara:  L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 2

So today's look is actually a bit of a fail on my part. I actually should start taking these photos earlier on the day because by the time I took these photos my shadows had creased. Now, the interesting part is that I was wearing my new Sin Primer Potion from UD. As upsetting for me as this is, Sin has definitely creased on me on both occasions that I've used it. I have to say the normal Primer Potion has nnever creased on me as far as I can remember. You don't see much creasing in this as I rubbed it a little so it didn't look so gross; but I'm definitely disappointed. However, I will give it some more time to see if maybe I'm using it the wrong way or something, because I really want to like it. It's a beautiful color!

I also must say I need more lights when I get ready. It's really annoying to put shadows on with just a night table lamp. I don't usuallly turn on the light because my roommate is sleeping (I live in a college dorm), so it kind of sucks. As a result of this a lot of the color gets applied a bit messy.
As for this look I was trying to use some of the teal looking colors with brown. I love those blues and greens in the pallete and I've been trying to find wearable ways to use them. Since this photo is in the afternoon the color doesn't show up as it is. Oh well let this be a lesson to take the photos in the morning! Haha.

I personally loved this combination and I will remake it to show you guys better what it looks like. I thought my brown eyes looked very nice with this.

  • I used Misdemeanor on the lid
  • Twice Baked on the Crease (as well as a brown from the Color Explosion by Maybelline in 05 Caffeine Rush)
  • Inner corner I used the lightest color of that Caffeine Rush
  • Lined eye inside and upper lid with Zero from UD

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II: Look 1

Since I got my Urban Decay stuff in the mail, I've been very interested in using all my makeup more. I have the Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II from 2009, and I decided that I should use them more often since I've had for two years now and the shadows still look brand new. I thought trying a new look with them everyday would be a fun idea to try to use all the shadows.

Today's look is a very light pink look that I did because I wanted to use my new Sin Primer Potion from UD.

  • I used Sphynx on my lid, and a bit of that on the bottom part of my eye
  • Put some of YDK on my crease
  • Black liner(Zero 24/7 Glide-On Pencil from UD) to tighline my eyes
  • Brown liner (Brown from Milani's Liquif Eye) on the lower waterline and lash area (Bourbon 24/7 Glide-On Pencil from UD)
  • The mascara I used was L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Urban Decay Haul

One of the many packages I got this week was from Urban Decay. I was on Facebook last weeknd when I noticed an advertisement for a sale that UD was having. I went to see if anything I liked was on sale or affordable, and sure enough I found some stuff.

The sale was for 20% off when you used a code. I got two primers as well as a free lipgloss with my purchase.

The two primers I got were the Original Primer Potion and the Sin one. The name of the free lipgloss was Wallflower.

I'll do a review on these when I start to use them more often. I obviously like the Original Primer Potion as this is my first full size I've bought. I had a mini one that came with my "Book of Shadows Vol II", and it has lasted me for about 2 years. It never makes my shadows crease and I was running out of it since I've been using it daily since I got to college. I can't wait to try the Sin and let you guys know what I think of it!

Nail of the Week 11/12/11: Shield

This nail polish is one that I enjoy very much. I have a few golds but this one is a very light color that still looks wearable. It's a little messy to take off because the gold is actually glitter, but other than that it's really beautiful.

Forget Tumblr!

I've never been a fan of Tumblr. I don't have anything agaisnt it, I mean what's not to like? You go to pages and find cool photos! But this week I found something new called Pinterest. I have been obsessing over this website for the past couple of days. I have found so many cute ideas for fashion and beauty, but also some laughs. To make this simple, this website is Tumblr but it seems to be targeted to a different audience and you can tell just by visiting the website. Not only this but you have to be invited to be able to post so it seems to be a little more exclusive and I love that about it. :) I made my account today since my invite came in yesterday :)

You guys should check it out.

College

So I haven't posted anything on here since I started school. Yes, the blog title is correct, and I am attending college. I'm also very far away from home. I miss writing on here and I wish to start again. Maybe start with some stuff that I've ordered and maybe do some LOTD(Look of the Day) since I've always wanted to keep a record of my makeup. Also, I've been very consistent with doing my nails so maybe I could share that too. I'll post again soon! In the meantime I'll leave ya guys with a video I made of the first snow storm of the season.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have a new blog for my photography and I would like for you guys to visit it and support it. I'm very excited to finally get to a point where I can be proud of how I shoot and that's why I'm telling you guys about it.
I will post my Flickr account as well so you guys can view the pics for yourself.

Don't be afraid to comment. I really enjoy the feedback :) !

FEB FAVORITES.

I had planned to do a January Favorites back in January but of course I kept putting it off. My last favorites was about a year ago so I've been really lazy about it. Well let's start shall we :)

MAKEUP

  • Lip Balm (Nivea A Kiss of Smoothness hydrating Lip Care SPF 4)- Softest lip balm I have ever used. Leave my lips really glossy and soft/ I usually just wear this when I don't feel like wearing lip gloss.
  • Lip liner (Revlon Color Stay in Blush)- One of my favorite eyeliners, even though I don't own many. It's a very light color which I pair it off with a nice lip gloss and it gives off a very nice pink color to my lips.
  • Lip gloss (L'OREAL Bare Naturale Gentle Lip Conditioner in Soft Peach) - I love this color and I also like the fact that it's not so sticky. It also gives off a nice color. The package is really great; just turn it to push up some color and apply.
  • Blush (Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural) -I about this from emilynoel83 and I had to get it. It is such a pretty color and it gives off a perfct pink glow to your cheeks. It helps that it smells great :D
  • Brownzer (Milani Baked Bronzer in Glow) - Gorgeous brownzer that I like to use for counter most of the time, and pair it off with my Happy Booster Blush.
  • Foundation(Neutrogena Skin Clearing oil-free makeup in Natural Beige) - This has to be my favorite foundation ever. I love the Revlon Color Stay but this is just great. It gives great coverage specially when paired with a good powder.

My Glamour Magazine Subscription

This past Christmas someone offered me a chance to pick a magazine that I wanted to be subscribed to. The person wasn't interested in any of the magazines, so they let me choose one instead. I was so excited as I haven't had a subscription to a magazine in about 8 years, and it wasn't even my subscription. Plus, it wasn't very girly either. Anyways, I had so many magazines to pick from, so I decided to pick Glamour Magazine since I read their website on a daily basis.

My first magazine came when I was in Vegas. It was a nice welcome back present. The first one I received was the December issue with Fergie on the front cover. I'm not a big fan of hers but I was still very excited to get that issue. It had a few coupons, which I didn't get to use because they expired on the day that I finally got around to reading it.

I don't know exactly when the magazines are suppose to arrive so when I received my February issue last week, I immediately knew something had happened in the order. I was missing my January issue with Reese Witherspoon on the front. Immediately I checked my new issue to see if there was customer service number or something. I went on the website and there is a link where you can report missing issues, by giving them the number of your subscription. On the website I was informed that they no longer had the issue so they were going to extend my subscription for an extra month.

A few days later, almost a week, I received my January magazine. I was
so happy, seeing as I didn't even expect on getting it. My boyfriend said that maybe it was going to come late and that I might just received it some other time. Maybe that was what happened, because I can't really tell if it's a new sent one or just my old one that came late.

Regardless I'm so happy I got it. I'm planning a few things based on the magazine, so hopefully that will be posted soon.
