Song Series: Dance Again - Jennifer Lopez

Hey everyone! I know I haven't posted in exactly a week. I have no excuse. I have no idea why I haven't posted even though I have so many products to review and the longer I wait the more I buy, and it keeps piling up! Lol Well, anyways I'm going to try to get back in the rhythm of things slowly but surely. I also need to catch up on blogs! So, expect some comments soon! :)

This week I'm posting about a song that is my go-to song everyday! I absolutely adore Jennifer Lopez and her music. I have been a fan of her music since I was 7 and use to dance in my living room to her "Lets Get Loud" song. Recently I have fallen back to my obsession with her. Her latest CD "Love?" has been one of my favorite things to listen to in the past year. Recently she debuted her latest single "Dance Again" which is from her new unreleased album. I love it so much and I'm obsessed with the video. I play it everyday at least 5-10 times a day (not exaggerating, I promise!! I'm crazy). It was supposed to be featured a few weeks ago, and last week too, but I figured those songs were more relevant for that week. This song makes me so happy! My favorite part of the video is from 2:33-3:06. She dances with her current partner Casper Smart, who is the first guy she has dated since her divorce to Marc Anthony. I pretty much have that dance memorized from the many times I've watched it. She is one of my favorite singers and I love her personality. She has always had a great attitude about life, and she is one heck of a strong woman! Not everyone likes her, but that's okay. Hope you like it! :)

I really enjoy the song series posts because I can share what music I'm currently loving and I can look back and check the songs too. I would like to do something a little different this week and ask if you guys would also tell me what song you're loving. I would really enjoy checking everyone's taste in music and who knows, next week's song might just be one you recommended! haha :D Hope you all have been great and have a fabulous week!

Song Series: Wide Awake - Katy Perry

Teenage Dream Concert Summer 2011 with my friend Eric
Today's song is a very special one for many reasons. However, the main one is because it's by one of my favorite singers! I'm sure you have all heard of Katy Perry, and if you've followed my blog for a  few months you would probably know I'm completely obsessed with her. I've liked her music since she became famous. Since then my life has been filled with happy pop music. Hehe. :) I have always looked up to her for different reasons, whether it be makeup or fashion. I actually went to her concert  last Summer for her Teenage Dream Tour and it was one of the happiest days ever! It was an amazing  experience to see her in person.  The room was filled with pink and cotton candy smell. It was very "Katy Perry". I'm very proud of Katy and all her accomplishments from this album which is why I'm posting this song. She has broken multiple records for being so young and  her Teenage Dream had 5 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 which no woman has ever done before. This album is her hard work that finally payed off. I've felt like I have been with her through all this, and seeing everything come together has been such a joy. I love her music and will always support her.  If you didnt know  she will have a movie out this Summer based on her life and this whole craziness with her album. She actually wrote a new song for her movie called "Wide Awake" and debuted it on the Billboard Awards this weekend. This is the song(enjoy!):

Moonstruck - Revlon Nail Art French Mix

I used the left color.
If you haven't seen these Revlon nail polishes, you should definitely try them. I love how they bring two shades and although they are meant to be used together, I prefer to use them individually. They had so many shades that it was really hard to choose, so I only got  a few I liked and that I didn't have any repeats in my collection. I think these are great because you don't get a lot of product which is always good because we don't usually use the whole bottle anyways. This lilac product is so pretty, and shimmery. I'm not one that wears pastels but these colors look really pretty on my medium tone skin. I can't wait to try the lighter color of Moonstruck!

Here are the rest of the colors!

Have you guys tried these? Do they look like something you would?

Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara Review

Top: No mascara on.
Bottom: Two coats of the mascara. No eyelash curler used (however, it looks way better curled).

This post is a rare one because if you follow my blog, you would know that I never do mascara reviews. Frankly the reason why is because when I find something I love, I don't wanna venture out and find something else. Why look for something else, if you're perfectly happy with what you have? However, recently I have reached a point where my old mascara(L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes) was getting really dry. I loved the mascara for almost a year now and have restrained myself from buying any other ones. So, because of the dryness, I decided it was time for a new one. Being a follower of all these beauty blogs, I obviously have a good understanding of what is out there and what works the best and I decided to give the Revlon 3D Volume Mascara a shot. I have must say this is one of the best mascaras I've tried. I usually say that about most of the ones I choose but I have reasons every time. The main reason why it's so great is because this mascara is very similar to the Benefit They're Real and I haven't gotten around to paying $22 on that one.

Price: $9.99

Wand: The wand is very long and has plastic bristles that are evenly spaced out. At the tip of the wand there are little bristles which are great for getting small lashes or just working on a section you have a lot of hairs and need to get every one(like the outer part of my lashes).

Pros: Great length and separation! Gets every lash.

Cons: Tip can get filled with product. Lashes feel a bit crunchy after. Dries too fast. Can get a little clumpy after a few coats.

Overall opinion: I absolutely love it. I can get passed the cons because to me they aren't a big deal. The results it gives me are great and its very easy to wash off after a long day (which is always a plus!).

Do I recommend?: Yes! Absolutely! Especially if you haven't gotten around to using the Benefit one and need to keep yourself from buying that one. ;)

What are your thoughts? Would you pick this one up? If you already have it, what do you think?

Song Series: Hello Hurricane - Switchfoot

Another Thursday, which means another music post. I've been listening to a lot of Switchfoot lately and I had to share my favorite song of the moment. If you don't know about Switchfoot, they are a Christian rock band that have been around for so long, so if you haven't heard their music give this song a chance.  Their music is always filled with optimism and a great attitude about life. This song in particular is from their "Hello Hurricane" album from a few years ago. When I first heard it I knew it was going to be one of my favorite songs ever, and continues to be that. It's a gorgeous song that shares a beautiful message of strength! :)

I've been watching the skies
They've been turning blood red
Not a doubt in my mind anymore
There's a storm up ahead

Hello hurricane, you're not enough
Hello hurricane, you can't silence my love
I've got doors and windows boarded up
All your dead end fury is not enough
You can't silence my love, my love

Every thing I have I count as loss
Everything I have is stripped away
Before I started building I counted up these costs
There's nothing left for you to take away

Hello hurricane, you're not enough

Hello hurricane, you can't silence my love
I've got doors and windows boarded up
All your dead end fury is not enough
You can't silence my love, yeah my love

I'm a fighter fighting for control
I'm a fighter fighting for my soul
Everything inside of me surrenders
You can't silence my love
You can't silence my love, yeah

Hello hurricane, you're not enough
Hello hurricane, you can't silence my love
I've got doors and windows boarded up
All your dead end fury is not enough
You can't silence my love

Yeah, I said hello hurricane

My Trip Back Home To Miami

In the airport - yes, this is in the bathroom which is why the photo is cropped and blurry. To my left, a woman was changing her kid! lol I felt a tad weird taking this.
Hi! :) I'm finally back home and it feels great! I really wanted to get away from the usual college life and the boring Spring weather back in Massachusetts. Although I did enjoy all the flowers blossoming, the weather was getting a bit annoying. It was so unpredictable like typical New England weather. I mean why is it still cold in May?!

Well getting here was quite a mission honestly. The crazy traveling day was Friday(May 11th). I had so many things left to do before I left campus so I was running around like a crazy lady. I had to pick up my Birchbox from my previous post, pick up my check, change my home address and finally finish packing! I personally love packing but packing a whole room and fitting it in boxes to fit in a room where space is limited was so difficult. I was so worried the whole time if everything was going to fit, and what if it didn't, where would my stuff go? However, during all this time I had a good friend helping me. He has been so great for the past month or so with everything I've needed. It's nice to have someone to count no matter what.

I finished storing my stuff around 11am. After checking out of my room with the Residence Hall staff, we left to the airport minutes later.

In the airport, it was another story. I had to take a box with me with some of my belongings so I didn't know if they were going to accept it. The box was fine though. Then, of course I found out my flight was delayed (like always). I had other personal issues to work out during my waiting time, but during this time I met a few interesting people that I basically spent all my time in the airport with. It has become a tradition that I meet strangers that have a lot in common with me in the airport.  My flight was actually great and I made another friend on the flight! Here are some photos made into a gif file, that I took to show all of you what I see leaving Connecticut and landing in Fort Lauderdale.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and late wishes to all the mothers out there on your special day! :)

May Birchbox 2012 (Gossip Girl)

This month's box is the only one so far I've done all I can to get! I received it Friday but had been expecting it for four days. Since the day I received the confirmation of shipment from Birchbox I tracked it because I forgot to change it's address to my home one so I wanted to get it before I left my campus. I called the campus mail service and told them my story. Long story short, an hour or two before I left campus I get an email from the mail services that a package had arrived. I was so happy to get it in time, especially because I knew this month's box was inspired by Gossip Girl!

Yep! Our favorite show has been made in a Birchbox. I couldn't wait for this since I found out last month because I didn't know what products they would put in the box. But basically what the card in the box said is that these are products that were inspired by the show and its glamorous lifestyle.

Read the cards below for the actual description (:

(click them to make bigger!)

Algenist | Regenerative Anti-Aging Lotion: Another anti-aging lotion! I'm pretty sure I've received something like this in most if not all the boxes. Honestly, I'm not complaining. I like these products because I wouldn't normally spend any outrageous amount of money on anti-aging products so it's nice to just have some pretty good sized samples around.
Full size: $75

Kérastase | Age Premium Masque Substatif: Although both of these things are suppose to be for "mature" hair, it can still work on damaged hair (according to Birchbox). This one is suppose to be a hydrating hair mask and is also suppose to add shine to your hair! (this was an extra in the box)
Full size: $60

Kérastase | Age Premium Bain Substantif: This is suppose to be a shampoo for damaged hair. While I don't have damaged hair, I do iron my hair at least once or twice a week, so there must be so damage. I can't wait to try this.
Full size: $36

stila | sparkle waterproof liquid eye liner (in Rock Candy): So, Birchbox has done it again. Last month Tarte, this month stila. They have introduced me to another brand I've been meaning to try and they are full size! I have already tried this and boy do I love it! I have it on right now and since I have brown eyes it is gorgeous on me! It really is waterproof. I tried rubbing it off and it didn't go anywhere! (with water either).
Full size: $22

Dior | Miss Dior Eau de Parfum: I was so happy when I saw this! I love getting samples of perfumes because I'm obsessed with trying all kinds. I had been meaning to try this one and I have to say it smells great! I tried it on when I got it and it lingers forever! I might get a whole bottle of this in the future. :)
Full size: $62-$102

Notecards: This was one of the extras of the box. It was a nice touch because it has to do with the whole idea of Gossip Girl. I will probably never use it, but it's pretty cute!
Set of 12: $12

Overall I was really happy with this box. Obviously what stood out to me was the liquid liner and the sample of perfume. However, I think it expresses the goal for this month. Good Job, Birchbox! :)

Did you guys get anything I got? Did you like your own box? If you're not subscribed to it, anything you would have loved to get?

OPI Amazing Spider-Man Collection

So I randomly felt like searching for new OPI collections and I found these! Aren't they awesome Fall colors? From the looks of it, I'm pretty much loving all of these except the Crackle one. However, if I had to pick I would only buy the white(My Boyfriend Scales Walls) and the greenish one (Just Spotted The Lizard!) because I love these shades. I have a very similar shade to the green one but it cost $1, so you can imagine the quality. I also wanted that white because I love white nail polishes! Plus I needed a good one because my Revlon one is almost done from me using it so much! I wish the Crackle one was a color itself without the effect, because it looks beautiful in the bottle.

Here are some photos from the blog The Polish Aholic :)
L to R (top): Call Me Gwen-ever ,  Shatter the Scales , Into the Night ,  Just Spotted The Lizard
(bottom): My Boyfriend Scales Walls , Number One Nemesis, Shatter The Scales ,  Your Web Or Mine
What do you guys think? Liking any of these?

Thank you!

Lovely Minty Nails! - Nail of the Day 5/1/2012

Nail Polish: Minty Minty 616 - Maybelline Express Finish
It seems this is happening a lot with my nail polishes! Believe it or not, this was not a favorite color from my collection. I've had it for a couple of Springs and always shy away from wearing it. However, it seems I'm becoming more comfortable with these shades. I absolutely love this color and I really can't believe I do. It's a great formulation, as most Express Finish colors from Maybelline. I doubt they still have it because it was from quite an older collection. I'm sure you can find a mint color like this one these days. :)

What do you all think of this color? Own any mint colors? Do you feel comfortable with it?

Goodbye Freshman Year

WOO! I'm officially done with classes for my first year in college! I'm so glad classes are over because next week should be pretty good. I haven't finished with my finals yet. My last two aren't that bad, although I do need to study quite a lot for one of them. But aside from the tests, my week will consist of my job and packing. Since I don't live in Massachusetts I have to keep all my belongings in my school's storage and packing all my stuff is going to be a mission. All my stuff initially fit in the back of my step dad's car(which is quite small), but since moving in I've bought the drawers you saw in this post, and a relative gave me quite a lot of Winter stuff so now I have way more than I started with. As much as I love packing, I'm kinda dreading doing this one because I still don't have boxes to put everything in.

But it will all work out and I will have everything packed. Then I will finally be back home, enjoying my Summer! I really can't wait for it. I have so many plans for different things I want to do. I'm getting a good feeling about everything!

Side note: HEAT are leading their current NBA Playoff series 3-0 against the Knicks. YEAH!

To show you my excitement, this is my awkward cat dance
from last night when I was so tired! Enjoy!
Hahaha.
Yes, I'm embarrassing,
and yes, I'm moving my cat ears.
Meow.
