Belle's Bargain Hunt #2 | American Flag (Stars and Stripes) Shorts

This week's BBH post goes hand in hand with yesterday's post. With the 4th of July quickly approaching(it's next week on Wednesday!), I decided the blog should have some festive posts. The item for this week has been really popular lately. Not only shorts with stripes and stars, but shirts, pants, leggings, shoes, jewelry, and many other items. However, shorts are what most people seem to be going for. So, lets start guessing on which is the steal and which is way too overpriced!

Like always, present the order(from least to most expensive) that you think they should be in by leaving a comment (example: 1,2,3,4).

So start guessing and see you next week!
Hope you're all enjoying this!
Please don't try to google and cheat, as it ruins the fun of this. Thank you! :)

Song Series: Lana Del Rey - National Anthem

This video just premiered yesterday but it has slowly become a favorite of this week, so I had to include it this week's song series! I absolutely love the video and the idea. This might not be for everyone for different reasons and you can tell just by watching it. However, from a Lana perspective, it is very her: controversial. The chorus to this song is my favorite and the song is just so much better with the video.

I would also like to thank Jessa, from Caked Vintage, for introducing me to Lana's music. :)

Another post on these beautiful and interesting polishes. I love using the magnet, and although it is tricky I don't mind. I must say this color is gorgeous! Everyone that has tried my bottle has agreed that it is a beautiful color.

Have any of you tried these polishes?

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream Review (Light/Medium)

I'm aware there seems to be no difference from some people's perspective. A BB cream is not suppose to show much of a difference. I thought it would be nice to post a before and after pic on this item, and that's what I did.
Claim: Skin concerns, such as discoloration, dullness, blotchiness and dryness can come from a number of different sources. It's hard to find just one product that addresses them all. Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream immediately and effectively fullfills your skincare expectations with just one multi-benefit product that combines intense moisturizing skincare + immediate skin perfecting coverage for skin that looks naturally more even, radiant and smooth. It’s a new idea in skincare. B.B. Cream is a hybrid formula that offers advanced skincare + immediate skin perfecting coverage in one single beauty product.

Price: $12.99

Pros:
  • evens out skin
  • mousturizes
  • gives tint
Cons:
  • greasy
  • thick
Overall Opinion: Although the photos barely show a difference, I can personally say I saw one. It definitely gives coverage and moisturizes. It evened out my skin like a foundation, but doesn't give the coverage that a foundation would give which is fine by me. In the first pic my face is a lot whiter than in the after photo because thats how my face usually is. The BB cream gave me a nice tint to even everything out. It does have little shine reflecting particles that I noticed especially when I was taking the photos of my hand. I have oily skin which might be a problem with it being so thick in consistency.

Do I recommend?
Yes, it is pretty good to wear on days you don't feel like wearing foundation. I like to use it when I'm in the house or going out but feel like wearing something light and fast to put on makeup. I don't really mind it being greasy because it doesn't bother me

No, to mature skin or pale skin. It doesn't do much for them from what I've read online. Also, there are only two shades Light/Medium and Medium/Deeep. I first purchased that darker shade it was way to dark for me and the Light/Medium is perfect for me. If you're paled skin I don't think this will work on you, maybe if you really blend it out.

Instagram Diary | #1

This collage shows my Instagram photos from the past week. I decided to do one because I really like the photos I took and it was an overall good week. What stands out from this are all the flower photos I have. Lets just say Home Depot has way too many pretty flowers. I also visited my old house which has a mango tree in the backyard, and I stocked up on mangoes. That explains all the mango photos. There was moment that I missed my long hair so I found an old pic of it and shared it with everyone. I also posted the shoe  pic because I couldn't decide on which one to get so I asked my followers/friends to help me pick which one to get! Hehe. One of the reasons why this was a good week was because The Miami Heat won The NBA Finals and are now champions for the 2nd time! The photos were taken while they were winning when I was at a sports bar watching and celebrating with fellow fans. Another standout photo is the candles. I have been loving combing candle smells and that's what I was doing. I was burning red apples and cinnamon candles in that photo.

If you have an Instagram leave it below so I can follow you! :)

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow in Nude Review

with Flash
no Flash

Claim: Get the Nude Look for ANY Eye Color! Naked and neutral, yet "never boring" shades create modern Nude Eyes. Wet & Dry application for two finishes: wet for dramatic, intense color with ultra long-lasting wear. Transforms shadow into a liner. Dry for a softer result.

Price: $10.95

Pros:
  • Colors are great when wet and are pigmented
  • Nice dupe for the Naked Palette
  • Great price for a the shades you're getting
  • Compact packaging is great to travel with
  • Lasts a long time
  • Doesn't crease (when wet AND using a primer)
Cons:
  • Without wetting colors, colors don't show as much
  • Really small amounts of colors; hard to get some at times
Overall Opinion: Although is a great product I think it's downside is that the colors look better when wet. The swatches up there were done after wetting because if not they barely show up and you have to get a lot of product. I don't mind wetting them because I've had a lot of shadows form Physicians Formula, and that's what they are known for. I think all the colors are amazing. I'm a neutrals girl and this is a great addition to my collection. There are dark shades and lighter shades and you can make any look you want. Also, the fact that you can wear them wet makes the darker shades a good substitution for eyeliner.

Do I recommend? Yes! I think this is great for the price and you get beautiful colors. Even if they aren't as pigmented, they work as they say they will in their claim.

Sneak Peek - Revlon Nail Art French Mix (Gold Color)

These polishes have been the best. There are so many colors to choose from. The gold side of this is my favorite from the combo in "Sneak Peek". Like always, it takes a few layers to get a nice color, but they go on really smooth so it's not that bad if you have to pile more on top. I really want to get more colors but they have been sold out for a while at the store that I go to.

Here are the other shades!

Belle's Bargain Hunt | Nude Rhinestone Flats | New Series

This post is to introduce a new series to my blog, called "Belle's Bargain Hunt". Unlike my other series, this one is interactive. The idea of this is that there are so many look alike products out there and the economy is tough. We want to save money but it's hard to when there are so many nice things we want. I, for one, don't mind buying cheaper items that look like brand name ones. I love getting a deal on shoes, shirts, jewelry, and clothes! So what better way than to share my love for this then starting this fun series.

How it will work:

  • There will be a weekly post of one item that is popular at the moment.
  • Multiple copies from different brands that are very similar will be presented mixed and not ordered in any specific way
  • Present the order(from least to most expensive) that you think they should be in by leaving a comment (example: 1,2,3,4)
  • The following week a new item will appear and the answer to the previous week's item will be presented
  • Prices will be presented too, to show which one is the true bargain! :)

This week's item are nude flats with rhinestones!

So start guessing and see you next week!

Please don't try to google and cheat, as it ruins the fun of this. Thank you! :)

Song Series: Katy Perry - Wide Awake (Official Video)

The same song featured twice in my Song Series?! Yep. I liked this song so much and I really enjoyed this new video for it. Like I said in the other post, this song is for the upcoming 3D movie that Katy Perry is going to show in theaters about her life. However, unlike in the other post this post includes the official video that debuted on the 18th. I absolutely love the video and it's creativity. I feel that it has a Snow White feel, and I love that. I can't get enough of that purple hair on Katy so that stood out a lot to me in the video!

I hope you all like this video as much as I do. Tell me what's your favorite song at the moment! :)

Meet Leila

Hi everyone! I haven't done a "Life" post in a while. I decided to do this one of a special little cat in my life. If you haven't read my previous posts then you wouldn't know that my family moved to an apartment before I got back to Miami. I had to do so much unpacking, reorganizing, and throwing away. However, once everything was to my liking, I ventured off to check out my new neighborhood. Since I live in a gated area, it also includes a pool and around that pool I met that cutie up there. She is a stray cat that comes by every once in a while. Yes, I've tried to keep her and tried bringing her inside the apartment, but as soon as she felt the cold air, she ran away from my hands. So she is still a stray cat (plus my mom would kill me if I brought her inside).

She is the cutest cat I have ever met. Though she is quite scared of everything, I try to show her that I'm her friend. Since I have never had a pet like a cat or dog, I'm very loving to animals when I like them. She already knows I'm not scared of her because every single time I spot her, I make a little sound so she knows she can come over and I will play with her. I usually just rub her head, scratch her where she points my hand to, and play with her cute tail (she has a white spot right at the end). I have named her Leila, if you where wondering where that came from. It was a random name that I thought was cute and fit her.

I'm not sure how old she is, but recently my uncles have pointed out that she might be pregnant. Her body seems a little bigger at the stomach and other signs say she is. I'm not sure how she is going to deal with this since she is a stray cat, but I will be keeping an eye out for more signs and to help her in any way I can.

So, that's my little story of Leila. Have any of you ever fallen for a stray cat? :)

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Nude Eyes Eyeliner Trio Review

While shopping with a friend in CVS I found a great sale for 40% Physicians Formula eye products. I didn't really know what to get, but my friend picked these up. I tried them in the store for her, and I loved them too. Since they were on sale I decided that it was a great excuse to pick these up.

Claim: Sultry Smoky Eyeliner Trio! The perfect set of three eyeliners to create a Smoky look for ANY eye color! Long-wearing, water-resistant and smudge-resistant formula for 24-Hour wear.

Price: $10.95 (I bought it for 40% off though)

Pros:

  • lighter shade is unique
  • thin enough to do whatever type of thickness you want
  • packaging
  • shimmer in each color

Cons:

  • not creamy - a little dry

Overall Opinion: Although they are a bit dry they work fine for me. I'm not very picky over eyeliners. All I want really want is for it to stay as long as I need it to and they seem to do that.

Do I recommend? Yes! Especially if you can find a sale for these. I wouldn't pay almost $11 for them. Very cool colors that would be interesting to use together to add color.

June Birchbox 2012

My June Birchbox was bit late getting to me because it was sent to my school, and then they forward it to my old house because I forgot to change the address. So that was my fault. I was very excited to open it because the packaging before you open the box gave away the theme. As I opened the box certain things grabbed my attention(in a good way).

This month, my box's theme was "Jet Set". It is meant to be items that last long through flights or adventures this summer. I really like this theme because it is very relevant for the time of the year.

Read the cards below for the actual description (:
(click them to make bigger!)

Julietta Has A Gun | Not A Perfume: According to the little note it brought, this is a minimalist scent. It is made with a single element called Ambroxan. It is also allergen free. I think the idea of this is interesting. I like the scent but it is very light. You have to really get close to smell it. I wouldn't pay the pay price for what it is. I also think the name is very fitting, and a little weird at the same time because if you read the brand and the perfume's name, it sounds funny.
Full size: $85-$110

Melvita | Rose Floral Water: I'm really excited about this one! It is a face mist, that is supposed to be used to refresh your face while wearing makeup or if you just need a something to refresh your face in a hot summer day. I have heard so much about these sprays lately and I'm glad I received one because I doubt I would have gone out of my way to find a good one for me. I like the size of it because it seems like it's going to last for a while. It smells like it says, like roses. I can't wait to use it!
Full size: $22

stila | stay all day 10-in-1 hd beauty balm: A BB cream in Birchbox!? Yep. I'm glad they sent me this because I have been loving BB creams lately. I like that Birchbox keeps sending stila products because I haven't really used the brand before. The consistency is very thick and it's a tad light for my face right now. But since it blends out so well, it looks very natural on.
Full size: $38

theBalm cosmetics | Stainiac in Beauty Queen: This is a very cool product. I'm a big fan of stains. It's great for people as lazy as me that don't like to touch up makeup. It can be used as a tint for cheeks and lips. The color is very wearable and not as intimidating as the packaging shows because it goes on quite sheer.
Full size: $17

Lifestyle Extra
Modcloth | Headbands: This is the cutest thing I have probably received in my boxes. First, I would like to say I'm completely biased because I love Modcloth. They make the cutest outfits and pieces! My face lit up when I opened the box and saw the words Modcloth on it. They sent out blue or green deer headbands or a red with white polka dots (which I would have loved to get!). However, the deers are soo adorable and I'm glad I got the minty headband instead of the blue! :) The headband comes in a little bag and in the back it shows how to put it. What I specially love about it is that it had a wire under the fabric which means that it will stay the shape you leave it at. It doesn't slip if you don't want it to. I have been wearing this since I got it. How could I not?
1 headband: $14

A demonstration on how to put it with a no-makeup me :)

Overall Opinion: I'm so excited about every product in this box! If you didn't catch my excitement over the headband(which is an extra, which means that it is not part of the $10 which your box is worth), I'm very thrilled to have it. It's a great way to keep my hair out of my face this summer. I'm still loving the stila products that keep coming and I was happy to have a product from theBalm because I have heard greats things about this brand. The rose water is a product that I wanted to try and I'm glad they read my mind. As for the perfume, even though it is light, it has such a lovely floral scent. This my possibly be my favorite box to date.

Moonstruck - Revlon Nail Art French Mix (Lighter Shade)

If you feel like you've seen this before on my blog, then you're right. I have written about this polish but about the darker shade. I love the lighter shade way more than the other one (and I really liked the darker one). I did a great job choosing this combination because they are really gorgeous colors! :) The glitter on this one is very thick and can you can tell. I also had to use a lot of layers like with all of these shades to get the color I wanted.

Here are the other shades!

June Glam Bag 2012

The June myGlam Bag is probably the prettiest one yet, in my opinion. Some people might disagree with me, but I think the bag itself is so much fun. I can't wait to use it inside my purse to store things. This month I actually had the pleasure of convincing my friend to subscribe to it. So it was fun when she called me and told me what she got. We didn't get the same shade of lipstick (which was expected), but everything was the same. I like how this subscription service is pretty much the same for everyone.

The theme for this bag was Out All Night.
To read more on it check out the cards below.

NYX Round Lipstick in LSS 629 Power

Living Proof frizz Nourishing Styling Cream

Marbella Permanent Eye Liner Pen

I was really pleased with this month's bag and everything it brought. I can't wait to use everything. The idea of the bag is very similar to the previous month, but I don't mind at all because the products are very different and I actually got a lipstick color that I liked this month. The little bag can be used in many ways and that is my favorite part of this!
