August MyGlam Bag 2012

The August Glam Bag is another bright colorful bag. The bag itself is a bright orange with a bright pink zipper. It is very fitting since both of the nail polishes they sent were either bright orange or bright pink. I like that is see-through because you can see what's inside if you use it for anything else later on.

The theme for this bag was Endless Summer.
To read more on it check out the cards below.

eclos | Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream
this anti aging cream will be good to moisturize the face and help with aging!

eclos | Cellular Activator Facial Serum
this item is said to best work with the above item! So we will see how that turns out.

Demeter | Roll on Perfume Oil
I thought this roll on perfume was an interesting thing to receive. It has a very light scent, and it is quite oily. I assume you would have to blend it out once worn because when I tried it on it just made an oily mess in my arm.  Smells good and clean though!

s.a.l.t.y. Cosmetics | Glama-ZOID Eye Shadow
In this little container, a very pretty shade of shimmery pink shadow is held. It gets even prettier when it catches the light. However, when I received my bag it was a little powdery because a bit of this had spread eventhough it was still closed.

Circus by Andrea's Choice | Spectacle Nail Color
This is the second bag that they send a nail color by this brand. I've heard that they haven't even been released so it's not to have these to try out. I'm going to do a review on these. But for now I have to say this is a bright, bright shade.

MyGlam Extra
 MyGlam | Glam Gloss
The lipgloss was a fun thing to get in the bag, in my opinion. It's a nice bright pink white really small shimmers. It's a pretty color that I don't think I own a lipgloss with in this shade. It's very smooth, but sticky. I also don't like the scent. I'm not a fan of a lot lip products (specifically lip glosses) that have a smell or taste, and this one happens to be one of them.

Overall Opinion: I definitely wasn't that happy with my bag. This is probably the first time I've said this about this service. I don't mind the eclos items because I think they are interesting. The Andrea's Choice nail polish isn't that bad. I actually love the bright orange. But the little s.a.l.t.y. pigment shadow could have been better quality, eventhough I will probably use all of it up. As for the demeter roll-on perfume, it barely smells and it is very oily. A sample of a popular perfume would have been better. Finally, the extra myglam gloss was not something I liked. I don't like the smell of bubblegum, and it is so sticky on my lips that I can't manage to keep it on there for long. It wasn't a terrible bag, but I wasn't happy with. I really hope they keep sending us the Andrea's Choice polishes. I have slowly come to love their formula.

**Glam Bag is a monthly $10 subscription service. I pay for it myself.

Mer-maid For Each Other - Nicole by OPI (Target Exclusive)

Mer-maid for Each Other on my hand inside the pool, because I really enjoyed looking at them when I was there
swimming. Thought you guys would enjoy to have a look at them too. :)
Brand: Nicole by OPI
Name: Mer-maid for Each Other - NI 401
Price: $7.04 online (they are only being sold at Target)

So if anyone knows about the Chanel Peridot fascination going on than you would know why I got this. Although this is not the same shade of that color, when I first saw it in Target I thought it was a nice substitute until I get myself the Just Spotted The Lizard from OPI (dupe for Peridot). This color is definitely more green than goldish, compared to the other colors. However, I really don't mind. When I have it on my nails I can't stop staring at it, because it's one of the most gorgeous colors I have ever owned. Colors that change in different lights are definitely my favorite, so this one is at the top of my list. I really recommend trying this shade, because it's a very fun color to add to anyone's collection!

My Favorite Shows of the Summer

The Summer is almost over for me, and before it is, I wanted to share some television shows I've been loving to watch during my vacation. Although some aren't running during the Summer, I have been watching episodes from previous seasons non-stop. So, here they are (in more or less the order that I have been loving them).

warning: small spoilers here and there.

Game of Thrones: I found out about this show through videos on YouTube, specifically through MissGlamorazzi, almost half a year ago. I didn't care care to watch it back then because I had another tv obsession going on at the time. However, in the past month or so I told myself to look it up online and find the first episode. I gave it a shot without reading anything about it, and it turned out that I absolutely loved it! The show is based on books from the "Song of Ice and Fire" series. I still haven't read this series, but if the books are anything like the show then I will soon give those a shot too. I don't really want to give a brief description because I feel like it will ruin the story. It is basically though, a story fully of fantasy based a medieval world. Those two combined make the storyline so incredible. There are currently two seasons and the third season will premiere March 2013. You can watch the episodes on HBO or find them online.

True Blood: This one is no surprise, since I have been a fan of this show for years. It usually returns in the Summer anyways, and it is also on HBO like the previous show. If anyone like vampires (not Twilight-esque stuff though) being being vicious human-eating monsters, then this for you. There have been a number of new types of mythical characters than have been introduced through the seasons, from werewolves to witches, so there is something for everyone. I love this show because of complicated it keeps getting and how new characters you never expected to have anything to do with the show end up fitting it quite nicely. This is also based on a book series formerly called The Southern Vampire Mysteries, however because of the show most of the republished books have been called the same as the tv series. The fifth season is still going on in HBO on Sundays, so if you want to check it out there is still time.

Song Series: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - Taylor Swift

source: Google

Hi, everyone! I haven't done a music post in a while. Since today is Thursday(when the song series usually goes up) and I found a catchy song I liked recently, I thought I would share it. This week Taylor Swift released the lyric video for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". I usually stay away from these types of songs (I think they are so cheesy). However, a lot of my friends were mentioning that they were really liking it, so I went to listen to it and realized it is very catchy and fun to sing along. I have to say the music itself bothers me since there are a lot of badly recorded parts, in my opinion. The lyric video is so cute. I love stop motion videos like these, and I appreciate them for what they are because I know they take a long time to do.

August Birchbox 2012

This month's Box was a box that I have heard a lot of negative reviews about. A lot of people were not happy with what they got. Honestly, I think Birchbox is definitely a hit or miss every month. Sometimes they send good stuff, and sometimes they don't. I personally always try to find a positive with each box. I'm paying for each box and if I want samples(which is why I signed up in the first place), I should be happy with what I get because I ultimately signed up to try new items. If I don't like a certain sample then I won't use it, simple as that. I think people are making too big of deal over what they get. All that aside, this month's theme is "Beauty School". I really like the booklet it came with. For a lot of people that are new makeup and beauty products it would be quite useful.

Read the cards below for the actual description (:
(click them to make bigger!)

Beauty Fixation | Makeup Remover: The Q-Tips-looking things are actually a pretty cool item to have. I haven't tried these yet but according to the description they contain makeup remover. If you snap the middle of it, it will release the makeup remover to one of the cottons. With this you will have a side wet with makeup remover and the other dry to clean up the mess after you have cleaned your mistake. I have been meaning to try this for a while and I completely forgot to buy them. I'm a big fan of using cotton swabs to clean up my makeup or my mistakes, so this should be fun to try it. Who knows, I might actually buy it once I try them. It would save me a lot of problems with makeup remover since I always manage to spill it everywhere. Haha.
Full size: $5 (24 applicators)

Juicy Couture | Viva la Juicy La Fleur: Apparently this is a new scent from Juicy Couture. I have only tried their perfumes thanks to the samples from Birchbox. I have liked most of them, and guess what? This is no exception. In fact this is probably my favorite from them. Why is this is so great? This perfume reminds me so much of a perfume that I'm currently saving to get. It smells just like the Radiance perfume by Britney Spears. As soon as I gave this sample a small spritz I knew they were the same. I opened this box with my friend so as soon as I freaked out about the similarity I brought over my little bottle of the Britney one so she could tell me if I was the only one that smelled it. She definitely agreed with me. This similarity makes this perfume amazing to me! I'm obviously getting the Britney one though (it's cheaper).
Full size: $70

Miss Jessie's Original | Quick Curls: This product is one that I have wanted to try as well. Not this brand exactly, but one similar to this. I have curly hair so it has always been recommended to try a curl cream. Lately I haven't really been ironing my hair(which is what I usually do to my hair) because I have been loving going to the pool, so my curls have been able to be their wild self. However, it gets quite frizzy and they don't always stay the shape they are suppose to. Hopefully this will help give some definition to them. I will give it a try, but it has to work really well for me to actually purchase it for its price.
Full size: $32

Shadow pen applied to my arm (left)
Blended thick and lightly (right)
Pixi Beauty | Lid Last Shadow Pen: This was a product I was really excited to find in my box. The last couple of times I have gone to Target I have been eyeing the Pixi products because it has taken me to long to realize how great some of their products are. However, I can never decide what I want, so the fact that Birchbox has given me the little push I need, is great. As for the product itself, I had a weird experience swatching it. The amount you see in the left photo is almost all of the point that it had. I'm not sure if it was the horrendous heat that was going on, or if they are just so creamy(it basically melted on my skin). However, once on my skin it blended out really well and dried nicely too. So for now I will blame the softness on the heat. The color I received was a beautiful grey shimmery shade, in Graphite Glint. Also, upon close examining I realized this pencil doesn't roll up like other products. You have to actually sharpen it, so that might a weird thing I might have to do to get more product especially since most of it was gone during swatching.
Full size:  $18

Lifestyle Extra
Schick Hydro Silk Razor | Razor: What is wrong with getting a razor?!! Apparently a lot is wrong with that since no one appreciates this. Hahah. I appreciate it this, and so does my mom. I showed it to her and I doubt I will be able to keep it. Parents are so funny. Anyways, it looks like a nice razor to try. I usually like the Venus ones with the thick gel strips, but I might start buying the Schick Hydro razor but for men,  that I tried months ago and I loved it. I think this is a nice extra for this month. I really like these items because they don't last you two uses. They are items you can use for a long time. They also brought some coupons for a shave gel, and refills for the razor. They can be used in the US and Canada.
Full size:$9.99

Overall Opinion: I really liked this box. I don't think I have complains about it. With Birchbox you shouldn't really criticize the products. It's a subscription service of samples. They are samples not full size products. Sure they don't send the best samples at time, but they can't do that every time. Personally, I'm very happy with this box because each of the items I receive I will be using. The Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy La Fleur perfume was definitely my favorite item because it smells sooo good! The Pixi shadow pen was what I needed to go to Target and start using the Pixi products. I'm also very excited try the Miss Jessie Curl cream on my wild hair. The little Beauty Fixation makeup remover are also another thing I wanted to try. Somehow Birchbox got everything perfect this time. It even got the  Schick Hydro razor right, because my mom needed a new one. Haha.

** Birchbox is a $10 a month subscription service. I pay for it monthly.

This gorgeous color is one of the many colors from the Kardashian Kollection made by Nicole by OPI. It a gorgeous fuchsia color and like all of the Nicole colors it goes on like a dream. It was a very creamy color. The actual color tends to look more purple when compared with pink shades. However, by itself it just looks like a really nice bright pink/fuchsia color.
