Thanksgiving in Connecticut

In the past three years my Thanksgiving Day has never been the same, and this year was no exception. Although I was surrounded by different lovely families in the previous years, the family that I spent this year has to be my favorite. I usually don't go back to Miami during this time since it I usually rather pay for a longer stay so I take different friend's offers to join them. The family that took me in this year was my boyfriend's. I had spent other days with them such as Easter, but Thanksgiving felt a lot more special. Every time I join them for holidays I always meet new family members and learn about all their family traditions, so I was pretty happy I was going to share it with them.

I had no plans on cooking or doing anything but set up the table that day. But I woke up that morning wanting to join in the fun. Soon I found myself mixing and whipping. I baked attempted at gingersnaps cookies, banana bread and some green bean casserole. I was so excited about the casserole since that was my favorite back home, but I had never made it before. I'm pretty pleased  since I got compliments about each of things I made. All the other food was really yummy!

Since we had an early meal the rest of the day I bothered John about going Black Friday(or "Thursday-night-when-you-should-be-with-your-family") shopping. I had never just gone early to shop so when I heard the mall would be opened earlier I knew this was a good time to try the shopping out. Around 10pm or so, we both headed to the mall and needless to say it was already packed. After we found parking we headed to our favorite stores. We scored some really nice deals and we had a nice time just walking around until almost 3am(and I thought I was just going there to look..)!

I definitely had a really nice Thanksgiving Day! I'm very grateful to always find really nice people to share such a sweet holiday.

Above all, I'm very thankful to have found this guy this year.

PS - John started a blog! Yep! :) I have been helping him with it and it's still a work in progress. He will be posting about his traveling adventures, so go check him out even if it's just to look around.
