Christmas Joy

This past Christmas I was lucky enough to spend it with John's family in Connecticut. It was never in my plans to do this, but I was so happy it worked out! Since my family was going to be away for the holidays, John and his family took me in and flew my back for about half of my vacation. I was so excited to be spending this time with John since it was our first Christmas together. We had been planning for this pretty much all of November.

In the end we decided to give each other wishlists(ideas for presents) for each of us and it actually worked a lot better than I had originally thought. We both gave each other gifts that were on the list as well as some that were not.

We also ended up decorating his house for the holidays. It was so fun seeing all his past childhood ornaments and decorations. On Christmas Eve, we just spent it with his mom and didn't do anything too traditional but it was still nice being with them during this time. The next day however, was a different story. I had the pleasure of participating in an annual Christmas Day tradition of the family where all, and I mean all, of his family gets together. It was a very different experience since I grew pretty much with just my mom, but I had a really nice time meeting everyone.

I was very thankful to have been able to spend Christmas close to John and his family. I know this post is a little late, so I hope you all had happy holidays!
